25 | On 9/7/22, at 1:00 PM Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Francisca Velazquez conducted an unannounced One Year Required inspection the abovementioned Child Care Center (CCC). LPA met with Kim Bruzzese, Director of the CCC and explained the purpose of the inspection. LPA, in the company of the Director toured the interior and exterior of the CCC. The CCC operates from from 8:20 AM to 12:15 PM, Monday – Friday and staff is present at the facility from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday. The facility is a preschool age program located in an elementary school. LPA notes that during this inspection there were no children present.
LPA notes that there are two (2) classrooms used for preschool children. The CCC classrooms are clean and organized. The CCC has ventilation to afford for childcare. LPA observed age-appropriate toys and furnishings throughout the CCC. LPA observed carbon monoxide detectors in the CCC. Director stated that detectors were just checked during fire clearance. The CCC's uses the school’s bathroom. LPA observes that the bathrooms are in safe and sanitary operating condition. LPA notes preschool children have access to seven (7) toilets, three (3) urinals and eight (8) sinks for hand washing. Snack/meals are provided by the CCC. Director stated that food preparation is conducted in the districts’ centralized kitchen and delivered to the CCC daily. The CCC provides the children in care filtered water inside the CCC and in the outside play area by means of individual water bottles, water jugs and disposable cups and filtered drinking stations throughout the CCC. Director was reminded of the need to have the CCC's water sources tested for lead containment. LPA observed disinfectants are readily accessible to staff but out of reach of children. At the moment, there is no medication in the CCC. When medication is on site, medication is stored in the school nurse’s office and is administered by the school nurse or office assistant. LPA observed manual sign- in and sign-out sheets containing parents drop off time, pick up time and full signatures. LPA reviewed sign-in and sign-out sheet and notes that all children that were present this morning were signed in.
