25 | On 6/8/22, at 11:45 AM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Elvin Baddley conducted a One Year Required Inspection of the abovementioned Family Child Care Home (FCCH). LPA met with Charlene Bailey,, Licensee of the FCCH and explained the purpose of the inspection. LPA, in the company of the Licensee, toured the interior and exterior of the FCCH. The home's living room, family room, three guest bedrooms, bathroom and backyard are used for child care while the remainder of the FCCH is excluded. At the time of the inspection, 12 children are present, along with an Assistant (spouse- cleared and associated).
LPA observed the FCCH to be orderly. The bathroom which is used for care is clean and free of toxins. LPA observed cleaning compounds in the hall closet which is secure. Cleaning products are also observed atop the kitchen refrigerator which is beyond the reach of children in care. Licensee informed LPA medications in the FCCH are stored in a cabinet in the kitchen. LPA observed age appropriate toys, furniture and equipment in the FCCH.
LPA observed required licensing forms and documents post on a bulletin board near the entry door of the FCCH. LPA also observe smoke and carbon monoxide detectors in the FCCH. The detectors were tested at 12:10 PM and found to be operable. LPA observed a regulation fire extinguisher in the FCCH which was serviced on 5/4/22. LPA reminded the Licensee to either service or purchase a regulation fire extinguisher annually. LPA reviewed the FCCH's fire/disaster drill log. The most recent fire drill occurred on 5/2/22. LPA observed no fireplace in the FCCH. .
The FCCH's backyard is enclosed by wooden fencing. The fence’s entry/exit gates are secure. The footing in the backyard area is made up of artificial grass. LPA observed the backyard to be partitioned by wood fencing to create an dog run area and an area for the home's shed and trash bins. Toys and play equipment observed in backyard are age appropriate. LPA observed no bodies of water on site.
