32 | The restrooms of the FCCH, one in total, are observed to be clean and void of toxins. Waste receptacles at the FCCH are observed to have tight fitting lids.
The outdoor playground area is enclosed by wooden fencing. The fence’s entry/exit gates are secured and furnishings, toys and equipment in the outdoor area are age appropriate. Licensee stated that her husband is in the granny unit out in the backyard, which was locked and off limits to children. LPAs observed locked sheds in the outdoor play area which contain FCCH supplies and equipment. The play structures in the outdoor play area have adequate cushioning materials to absorb falls. Shade is provided by trees, umbrellas, and a shade awning. LPAs observed an empty water table in the outdoor play area. Licensee informed LPAs the water tables are emptied daily and cleaned. Children using water tables are directly supervised. Play structure are absent of sharp, pointed or loose parts. LPAs were informed that the sandbox is cleaned daily.
Staff and children records were reviewed and the records were current and complete and possessed contact information and immunization records. LPAs reviewed infant files and found sleep logs to be current. Licensee and assistant's records were reviewed and found to be current and complete. Licensee's Pediatric CPR/First Aid expires on 2/4/25 and their Mandated Reported Training (AB1207) was taken on 12/7/2023. Licensee stated that all staff will be renewing their pediatric CPR and First Aid certifications on 2/4/2025 and provided proof of course enrollment to LPAs. LPAs reminds Licensee that it is their responsibility to have current certifications and training. Licensee was reminded to keep training certifications current and updated prior to expirations.
Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
