25 | On 8/31/21, at 9:30 AM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Elvin Baddley conducted a Required Inspection of the abovementioned Family Child Care Home (FCCH). LPA met with Dora Alapizco, Licensee of the FCCH and explained the purpose of the inspection. LPA, in the company of the Licensee, toured the interior and exterior of the FCCH. The home’s living room, kitchen, breezeway, hallway bathroom and backyard are used for child care, while the home’s bedrooms and garage are excluded. At the time of the inspection LPA observed eleven children (two related) in care along with three assistants (cleared and associated).
LPA observed the FCCH to be clean and orderly. The bathroom which is used for care is clean and free of toxins. LPA observed cleaning compounds, medication and sharps on the shelf of elevated kitchen cabinets which is beyond the reach of children in care. Toys, furniture and equipment in the FCCH are age appropriate.LPA observed a fireplace in the living room which is screened by a glass and inaccessible to children in care. LPA observed a smoke and a carbon monoxide detector in the FCCH. Each detector was tested (10:23 AM and 10:25 AM) and found to be operable. LPA observed a regulation fire extinguisher in the FCCH which was serviced on 7/22/21. LPA reminded the Licensee to either service or purchase a regulation fire extinguisher annually. LPA reviewed the home’s fire/disaster drill log. The most recent fire drill occurred on 7/15/21. LPA observed required licensing forms and documents post on the wall between the kitchen and breezeway.
The FCCH's backyard is enclosed by wooden fencing. The fence’s entry/exit gates are secure. LPA observed toys and play equipment in backyard to be age appropriate. LPA observed no bodies of water on site.
LPA reviewed a sampling of the children's records. All records reviewed are current and complete. A current roster of children was reviewed by the LPA. LPA also reviewed the Licensee's records. The Licensee's
