25 | On 8/3/21, at 10:30 AM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Francisca Velazquez conducted a Required Inspection of the facility. Prior to entering the facility, LPA completed COVID-19 pre-screening questionnaire with Licensee and based on Licensee's responses it was determined that facility did not have COVID-19 exposures. LPA met with Graciela Garcia, Licensee of the facility and explained the purpose of the inspection. LPA, in the company of the Licensee, toured the interior and exterior of the facility. This home consists of three (3) bedrooms, two (2) bathroom, two (2) living rooms, kitchen, garage and backyard. Licensee stated that children have access to the one (1) living room right when you walk into the home, one (1) bathroom and backyard while all bedrooms, garage and second living room are off limits to children with safety latches on the doors. Licensee stated that children only pass through the second living room to get the backyard and children are always accompanied by an adult. At the time of the inspection seven (7) children are present along with Assistant, Carlos Gonzalez, Licensee’s son.
The home was orderly and clean with proper ventilation for all children in care. The bathrooms used for care was clean and free of toxins with hand washing poster for the children. All cabinets in the bathroom have safety latches. LPA observed a fire place in the living room that is covered and made inaccessible to children. In addition, the fire place is located in the second living that is not accessible to children in care. LPA observed kitchen is off limits by two small gates making the kitchen inaccessible to children in care. LPA observed that sharps and knives are stored in the kitchen on top of the refrigerator and also on top of the counter, both areas are inaccessible to children in care. Cleaning compounds are also stored under the sink in the kitchen and in the garage both areas are inaccessible to children in care. LPA observed a small gate making the laundry area and garage inaccessible to children in care. Licensee stated that household medications are stored in the bedroom of the facility that are inaccessible to children in care. Toys, furniture and equipment in the facility are age appropriate.
