On November 14, 2024 Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Giovani Gonzalez conducted an unannounced Required - 3 Year inspection at the above-mentioned Family Child Care Home (FCCH). LPA met with Licensee Graciela Garcia and informed them the purpose of the inspection. At the time of the inspection 14 children were present as well as 1 assistant as well.

LPA in the company of the Licensee toured the interior and exterior of the FCCH. LPA observed the children's area to have sufficient space and ventilation for children in care. LPA observed the kitchen was made inaccessible to children in care via a child proof gates. LPA observed the doors to the bedrooms to have child proof locks. LPA reminded Licensee in order for areas to be inaccessible, they must remain closed. LPA observed a fire place in the dining area which was secured with a gate that is attached to the wall. LPA observed the bathroom used for children to be clean and free of hazards.

LPA observed the backyard to be completely enclosed. LPA observed a small play structure that is in good condition. LPA observed the backyard to have sufficient space and shade for children's activities. LPA observed the exit way of the home to be secured. LPA observed one side of the home has a shed that is made inaccessible with a gate. LPA reminded Licensee in order for the area to be inaccessible the gate must always be secured.

The FCCH has a smoke and carbon monoxide detector which was tested at 2:36PM and found in working order. LPA observed the FCCH to have a regulation fire extinguisher which was serviced on 12/13/2023. LPA reminded Licensee to either service or purchase a regulation fire extinguisher annually.

LPA reviewed a sampling of children's files. LPA observed 1 child to be missing the LIC 700 and LIC 995A. LPA reminded Licensee it is there responsibility to ensure all children files are current and complete. LPA issued a Technical Assistance as a result of the missing forms. LPA reviewed assistant's file which was found to be current and complete. LPA reminded Licensee forms and records must be readily available for

inspection. LPA notes both assistant and Licensee have current Mandated Reporter Training (completed 3/10/2024) and Pediatric CPR/ First Aid (completed 7/31/2023). LPA reminded Licensee that it is their responsibility to ensure all training and certifications are current. Licensee informed LPA there are no fire arms in the home.

Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.

LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with licensee and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-and-resources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed licensee of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment.

Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. For IMS information see PIN 22-02-CCP. When any IMS is provided, a Plan for Providing IMS must be submitted to the Department. Licensee was informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org website; a consumer education website that helps families obtain child care by connecting them to child care providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California.

During the exit interview, the Licensee, confirmed that there are no Registered Sex Offenders living in the facility and LPA completed the RSO profile in FAS.

No deficiencies were issued during the inspection.

Exit interview was conducted with Licensee Graciela Garcia and notice of site visit was given.
