25 | On December 11, 2024 Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Susana Martinez conducted an unannounced Case Management- Deficiencies inspection to address concerns observed during a walk through of the infant yard. LPA met with Tania Pacheco and advised her of the purpose for the inspection. At the time of inspection there were 16 infants in care of 5 staff.
As LPA approached the bottom level infant play yard, two infant children (C1 and C2) were observed to be napping on mats placed in the play yard. LPA asked lead infant teacher (S1) if cribs are available for infants to sleep in, S1 stated yes inside the infant room. LPA also observed C1 and C2 wrapped in blankets. LPA advised S1 that infants cannot be swaddled in blankets. LPA observed S1 remove blankets from infants.
LPA asked Director if she is aware that infants must sleep in a crib, Director stated yes. Director stated that she was made aware that infants can nap on a mat if he/she is able to climb out of a crib. LPA agreed with Director. It was determined that C1 and C2 cannot climb out of a crib as infants are 4 and 8 months old.
Per review of the Required 3-Year Annual inspection conducted on 12/13/2023, the Director was made aware that infant children who can climb out of the cribs may use mats, otherwise an infant must be placed in a crib. LPA provided CCR Title 22 Regulations Infant Care Center Sleeping Equipment 101439.1 and Infant Safe Sleep F&AQ's.
During today's inspection LPA issued one Type B deficiency which can be found on the attached 809-D.
Notice of site visit was given.
Exit interview was conducted, appeal rights were provided and report was reviewed with Director, Tania Pacheco. |
