25 | On 10/26/22, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Francisca Velazquez conducted an unannounced One Year Required Inspection of the abovementioned Family Child Care Home (FCCH). LPA met with Leticia Garnica, Licensee of the FCCH and explained the purpose of the inspection. LPA notes COVID Pre-screening questions were asked of Licensee prior to the inspection. The Licensee's responses suggest the FCCH is void of COVID positive cases. At the time of the inspection, LPA observed seven (7) children on site being cared by Licensee and two (2) assistants.
LPA, in the company of Licensee, toured the interior and exterior of the FCCH. The FCCH’s uses the daycare room, outdoor bathroom, bathroom in the home and outdoor yard for daycare services. Meanwhile all three (3) bedrooms, garage and detached studio are completely off-limits. Licensee reported that the living room, kitchen and dinning area are also not used for daycare services but children do walk through the living room, dinning area and kitchen to get to the daycare room. LPA observed all bedroom doors have safety doorknobs and garage is locked and requires a key to open. LPA observed that there is no accessible toxin or hazardous items in the living room, dinning area and kitchen. This home has one detached studio that is rent to one (1) individual that is fingerprint cleared.
The FCCH was observed to be clean and orderly. The FCCH has ventilation to afford for the children’s comfort. The FCCH was void of hazardous items. Medication was observed stored in a cabinet in an elevated shelve that is inaccessible to children in care. Sharps were observed in a closed storage box on top of the refrigerator in the kitchen. Cleaning compounds in the FCCH were observed in the laundry room in an elevated shelf that is inaccessible to children in care. Additional disinfectants are stored in the garage that is also inaccessible to children in care. The bathrooms used for childcare were observed to be clean and free of toxins. LPA observed a fireplace in the home's living room that is covered and secured by a glass gate. Toys, furniture and equipment in the FCCH are age appropriate. CONT 809-C |
