25 | On March 20, 2023 at 11:15 AM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Gigi Reyes conducted an unannounced One (1) Year Required inspection. LPA asked pre- screening questions related to COVID- 19 and licensee’s responses indicate there are no COVID -19 exposure on site. LPA met with licensee, Liliana Gomez and explained the purpose of the inspection. Family Child Care Home (FCCH) is operational today, however, Licensee's 2 children are the only ones present during the inspection.
LPA in the company of Licensee toured the interior and exterior of the day care. Required licensing forms are posted in the wall at the day care area. LPA observed age appropriate toys and equipment. LPA observed smoke and carbon monoxide detectors in the FCCH. The fire extinguisher was purchased on 1/9/2023. Licensee was reminded that fire extinguisher should be serviced or to purchase a new one every year. FCCH conducts fire and disaster drill every 6 months, last drill was conducted on 2/1/2023. During the inspection, LPA observed the on going renovation in the home. Licensee stated that day care children's bathroom is under repair which started today and will take about 2 weeks. Day care children will utilize the bathroom which was previously inaccessible. Children will be accompanied by the assistant during bathroom use. The back yard is also temporarily inaccessible to children due to on going replacement of the surfaces into grass and concrete blocks flooring. Hazardous items and cleaning materials are kept inaccessible to day care children. The backyard is enclosed with wooden fence, LPA observed age appropriate toys and play equipment. No bodies of water were observed on site. Licensee stated there are no guns or ammunition in the home.
