25 | On 5/21/25, at 1:40 PM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Matthew Sapien conducted an unannounced random inspection of the abovementioned Family Child Care Home (FCCH). LPA met with Marisela Zepeda, Licensee of the FCCH, and explained the nature and purpose of the inspection. The LPA, in the company of Licensee, toured the interior and exterior of the FCCH. The house is a 3 bedroom and 2 bathroom single story home. The areas that are accessible for day care children are as follows: living room (main day care area), one restroom, and the backyard. The remainder of the home is excluded from childcare services. At the time of the inspection, LPA observed 7 day care children present, 2 of whom are infants. LPA also observed one cleared staff assistant.
LPA observed the FCCH to be clean and orderly. The bathroom utilized for childcare is clean and free of toxins. The bathroom is nearby the main day care room. In the bathroom, LPA observed child care hygiene items and bathroom products in cabinets that aren’t hazardous to children in care. LPA observed sharps, personal medication, and some cleaning solutions in an elevated kitchen cabinet. No children currently require medication. Additional cleaning solutions are stored on an elevated shelf in the bathroom. LPA observed child safety knobs, latches, and other forms of security like gates and screens throughout the residence. LPA observed a First Aid Kit for children.
LPA observed age-appropriate toys, furnishings, and equipment throughout the main day care room. The day care room, which is between the kitchen, dining room, and one of the hallway bathrooms, has a child safety gate installed. The gate is only opened by the staff when children are dropped off and picked up for day care.
LPA observed relevant licensing forms and documents posted prominently at the entry of the residence. LPA observed a combination smoke and carbon monoxide detector within the FCCH. Near the entry way, said (CONT. 809-C, Page 2)
