On 07/26/21 at 10:20am, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Christian Patterson made an unannounced inspection to the home for the purpose of conducting a REQUIRED 1-YEAR inspection. LPA met with Licensee Amy Ulloa and explained the purpose of the inspection. There were 4 children present. A tour of the home was made both inside and outside.

Licensee uses the daycare room, back yard, and one bathroom for day-care. The garage and second story bedrooms will be off limits. The 2A10BC regulation fire extinguisher was purchased on 07/18/21. Licensee is reminded to either service or purchase a regulation fire extinguisher every year. LPA observed functioning smoke and carbon monoxide detectors in the home. LPA observed a gate at the bottom of a staircase leading to the second floor of the home and kitchen and locks on the garage door keeping areas inaccessible to children. LPA observed a screened fireplace in the living room. Licensee uses the backyard which is completely enclosed with a fence. LPA observed that there are age appropriate toys and equipment both inside and outside. LPA did not observe any bodies of water. Licensee stated that there are no firearms or ammunition in the facility. Licensee has three dogs with current vaccinations. LPA reviewed a sampling of children's records. Immunization records were complete for all adults in the facility. Licensee's First Aid/CPR certificates are valid until 08/2021. Licensee has completed AB 1207 Mandated Reporter Training which is valid until 09/2021. A fire/disaster drill was completed on 07/06/21.

Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. For IMS information see Evaluator Manual - Regulation Interpretations and Procedures for Child Care Centers Sections 101173 and 101226. When any IMS is provided, an updated Plan of Operation that includes IMS must be submitted to the Department. Licensee is reminded that they are responsible for knowing the regulations for a Family Child Care Home and that Licensing information can be accessed online at www.ccld.ca.gov. LPA reviewed the handouts "Safe Sleep in Child Care, A Child Care Provider's Guide to Safe Sleep, and the Effects of Lead Exposure".

Licensee submitted an application to Community Care Licensing (CCL) requesting an increase in capacity in order to operate as a Large Family Child Care Home. On July 19, 2021 the Santa Barbara County Fire Department inspector conducted a fire inspection. The home received fire clearance approval for the increase of capacity. The home meets Title 22 Division 12 requirements.

License capacity increase will be effective today, July 26, 2021 for a total of 14 children.

There were no deficiencies cited today. The LIC 9213 (Notice of Site Visit) was posted in LPA's presence.
