25 | On 3/12/24, Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Francisca Velazquez and David Roman conducted an unannounced Required 3-year Inspection of the Family Child Care Home (FCCH). LPAs met with Anabel Novoa, licensee FCCH and explained the purpose of the inspection. LPAs, in the company of licensee toured the interior and exterior of the FCCH. LPAs notes there were no children present in the FCCH today’s inspection.
This is a single-story home that consists three (3) bedrooms, two (2) bathrooms, living room, dining room, kitchen, garage, and outdoor yard. The daycare services occur in the living room, dining room, one (1) bathroom and part of the outdoor yard. Meanwhile, three (3) bedrooms, one (1) bathroom, garage, kitchen, and part of the outdoor yard is inaccessible to children in care. LPAs observed a secured gate making the kitchen inaccessible. Additionally, LPAs observed all bedroom doors and garage door have door safety knobs. Lastly, LPAs observed fencing on the sides of the outdoor yard making the sides of the outdoor yard inaccessible to children in care.
LPAs observed the living room, dining area, bathroom and outdoor yard have plenty of spacing and ventilation for the comfort of the children in care. LPAs observed a fireplace in the living room that is made inaccessible by a large piece of furniture that is secured. LPAs observed sharps are stored in an elevated cabinet in the kitchen. Cleaning compounds are stored under the kitchen sink, in the garage and in Licensee’s bathroom. Medication for the family is stored in an elevated cabinet in the kitchen and in the Licensee’s bedroom. LPAs notes all these areas are inaccessible to children in care. The restroom that is used for childcare services is clean and free of toxins. In the FCCH, LPA observed toys, furniture, and equipment are in good conditions and are age appropriate for the children in care.
