On 12/5/2024 at 1:05 PM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Gigi Reyes an unannounced Annual Random inspection at the above Family Childcare Home (FCCH). LPA met with Licensee, Maria Lopez and discussed the purpose of the inspection. The licensee provides care for children aged 0 to 12 years old. FCCH operates from Monday to Saturday, from 5:30 AM to 6:00 PM.

During the inspection, LPA and Licensee toured the entire home, LPA observed 3 children napping on the cots. While LPA was still in the facility, 3 additional school age children were dropped off at the facility. The required licensing forms were posted at the main entrance. FCCH is clean and in order, free of hazardous items at the time of the inspection. The FCCH operational areas include, the family room hallway, living room, one bathroom, dining, kitchen, and backyard. The backyard is enclosed by a 7-foot wood fence, with mostly concrete surface and fake grass on the sides. Inaccessible areas of the home include upstairs which is barricaded with a baby gate, and the garage, which remains locked and with child safety lock. Toxins are stored in a closet under the stair case which also remains locked. Age-appropriate toys and equipment were observed in both the indoor and outdoor areas

Licensee was informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org website; a consumer education website that helps families obtain childcare by connecting them to childcare providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California. Licensee, was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.

LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with licensee, Maria Lopez and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-and-resources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed licensee, Maria Lopez, the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment.

Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. Licensee is not providing IMS. For IMS information see PIN 22-02-CCP. When any IMS is provided, a Plan for Providing IMS must be submitted to the Department. During the exit interview, the Licensee, Maria Lopez confirmed that there are no Registered Sex Offenders living in the facility and LPA completed the RSO profile in FAS.

During today's inspection, no deficiencies are cited.



A notice of site visit was given to Licensee and must remain posted on, or immediately adjacent to, the interior side of the main door for 30 days. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the Licensee, Maria Lopez.
