On 10/2/2024, at 9:30 AM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Gigi Reyes conducted an unannounced Case Management inspection at the Gonzalez Garcia Family Child Care Home (FCCH). LPA met with licensee, Adriana Gonzalez and assistant /spouse, Carlos Gutierrez Medina and discussed the purpose of the inspection. FCCH operates from Monday to Friday, 5:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and provides care to children age 0 to 13 years old.

The licensee submitted an application in August 31, 2024 to include an additional day care area in the home. The additional space is an Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU) which was completed on 7/25/2024. The ADU will be used as a designated day care area for younger children. The ADU consists of kitchenette and full bathroom. Age appropriate toys equipment, playpen were observed. LPA reviewed the Certificate of Occupancy issued by City of Santa Maria, Control of Property was also reviewed. Fire Safety inspection clearance was issued on 9/19/2024. Licensee is current with the required training, Pediatric CPR and First Aid was completed on 4/16/2023 , while Mandated reporter training was completed on 9/12/2024.
As of this date, the following areas will now be accessible to day care children: Living Room, Dining area, Kitchen, ADU and fenced Backyard.
The off limit areas are; 2nd floor where 3 bedrooms and 2 baths are located. It was noted that the bottom of the staircase is barricaded with a baby gate indicating it inaccessibility to day care children.

No deficiency was cited during today's inspection and effective as of today, 10/2/2024 the ADU is approved for use as a designated day care area.

Notice of Site Visit was issued. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with licensee, Adriana Gonzalez Garcia.
