32 | The backyard is partially accessible for daycare purposes, with wooden & metal fencing used to partition off the accessible area. In the backyard, the footing is varied between dirt, grass, and concrete, and LPA observed large fabric canopies to provide shade for the children’s comfort, as well as various age-appropriate toys & play equipment. LPA reminded Licensee to replace toys and play equipment when such items begin to degrade or are not in good repair. LPA observed no bodies of water on site, and confirmed this was the case with Licensee.
The children’s records were reviewed. The records are current and complete with emergency contact information and immunization records. The Licensee’s records were reviewed, and were found to be current and complete, with CPR & First Aid training completed 12/01/2024 (expiring 12/01/2026), and Mandated Reporter training completed 2/26/2025 (expiring 2/26/2027). Record review found both assistant's documentation to be current & complete as well. LPA notes the most recent disaster drill was conducted on 8/26/2025. LPA reminded licensee of the requirement to conduct & document disaster drills every 6 months. Licensee states there are no firearms or ammunition stored on site.
Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. For IMS information see PIN 22-02- CCP. When any IMS is provided, a Plan for Providing IMS must be submitted to the Department. The following information regarding ADA was provided: US Department of Justice (USDOJ) toll-free ADA Information Line at (800) 514-0301 (voice)/ (800) 514-0383 (TTY) and link to publication: Commonly Asked Questions about Child Care Centers and the ADA, available at: https://www.ada.gov/resources/child-care-centers/.
Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living in the home, persons who provide care and supervision to children, and staff who have contact with children, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5-days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30-days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
Licensee was informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org website; a consumer education website that helps families obtain child care by connecting them to child care providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California. (Cont. 809-C, Page 3)
