This is a temporary change of location for 426215330 located at 5201 Eight Street in Carpinteria.

On June 20, 2023 at 9am, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Susana Martinez conducted an announced pre-licensing inspection. LPA met with director Guadalupe Perez and advised her of the purpose for the inspection. Together with the director LPA toured the facility inside and outside. At the time of inspection there were no children in care. No bodies of water were observed during the inspection.

The center plans to operate at this location from 6/26/2023 to 8/4/2023 while the established location is under construction. The center plans on operating Monday- Friday 7:30 AM-5 PM. Morning and afternoon snacks will be provided for children in care. Director states the center will be providing drinking water from an outside source. The facility will be occupying 3 rooms for care which are numbered 21-23. Room 23 will be used for the Toddler Component. The facility has two separate outdoor play yards. The preschool yard is currently used by the Carpinteria Unified School District which will run through 7/14/2023. LPA advised director that a waiver must be requested in order to share the outdoor space. LPA provided director with a Child Care Center Waiver Guide.

LPA observed sufficient age-appropriate toys and learning materials throughout the facility. No hazards/toxins were observed to be accessible to the children. First aid kits were observed in each room. A dual carbon monoxide/ smoke detector was observed in each room. Director states the school district has installed the dual alarms in each room.

A fire clearance was granted by the Carpinteria- Summerland Fire Department on 6/13/2023.

LPA provided and reviewed with Site Supervisor the LIC 311A, Records To Be Maintained At The Facility, for child’s records, personnel records, administrative records, and documents to be posted. LPA discussed information capacity and ratios. Site Supervisor was made aware that it is the facility's responsibility to know the current regulations for a CCC which can be accessed on-line at www.cdss.ca.gov.

This facility plans on providing Incidental Medical Services – IMS. LPA reviewed storage of medication and equipment/supplies. Director was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.



The facility is able to accommodate 60 children at a time.

The license is pending:


- Review and approval of waiver regarding the shared outdoor activity space.

Exit interview was conducted and report was reviewed with director Guadalupe Perez.
