25 | On 11/3/23, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Francisca Velazquez conducted an announced Pre-licensing Inspection and met with Applicant, Sofia Corona. LPA informed Applicant of the nature and purpose of the inspection. Applicant informed LPA of the intention to maintain operating hours of a Family Child Care Home (FCCH) from 5:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Monday- Friday. Applicant also informed LPA of the intention to provide care for children 1 month to 10 years of age. Per applicant, there are two (2) adults that live in the FCCH, and two (2) individuals have been fingerprint cleared.
LPA toured the interior and exterior of the residence with the Applicant. This is a single-story home that consists of five (5) bedrooms, two (2) bathrooms, living room, dining area, kitchen, laundry room, garage that is used as a studio, outdoor room that is used as storage and outdoor yard. Applicant reported day care services will occur in the living room, dining room, kitchen, bathroom, and outdoor yard. Meanwhile, five (5) bedrooms, one (1) bathroom, laundry room, garage that is used as studio, outdoor room that is used as storage and part of the outdoor yard will be inaccessible to children in care. LPA observed all five (5) bedroom doors, and laundry room have door safety knobs. LPA observed the garage that is used as a studio and the outdoor room that is used as storage are locked. LPA observed a fence in the outdoor yard, making part of the outdoor yard inaccessible to children in care.
LPA observed the living room, dining area, kitchen, bathroom, and outdoor yard have plenty of spacing and ventilation for the comfort of children in care. LPA observed sharps are stored in an elevated cabinet in the kitchen. Medication for the family is stored in a separated elevated cabinet in the kitchen. Cleaning compounds were observed to be stored in the laundry room and in an elevated cabinet in the bathroom. LPA notes all these areas are inaccessible to children in care. The bathroom of the FCCH is observed to be clean and free of toxins. LPA observed items, equipment, toys and furnishings for the children in care.
