32 | LPA observed cots for napping and rest. LPA observed sufficient number of cots for requested number of children with tight fitted sheets. The licensee shall take measures to keep the center free of flies, other insects, and rodents. LPA observed waste receptacles to have tightfitting covers, in good repair, leakproof and rodent-proof. LPA observed disinfectants, cleaning solutions, poisons and other items that could pose a danger if readily available to children shall be stored inaccessible to children. LPA observed first aid kits, carbon monoxide detector present and fire extinguisher last serviced on 03/27/2024.
The facility maintains an isolation area to care for any child who becomes ill during the day. The isolation is located to afford easy supervision of children by center staff and can house a cot. Facility will provide breakfast, lunch, and snack. LPA observed kitchen to be clean, free of rodents or pests and in good working order. Menus shall be in writing and shall be posted at least one week in advance in an area accessible for review by the child's authorized representative. Copies of the menus as served shall be dated and kept on file for at least 30 days. Menus shall be made available for review by the child's authorized representative and the Department upon request.
LPA observed separated play yards to provide ample shade, age-appropriate toys and equipment, sand free of debris, soft material to absorb falls and accessibility to water. The playgrounds are enclosed by fences at least four feet high to protect children and to keep them in the outdoor activity area. No bodies of water are present on the property.
Drinking water from a noncontaminating fixture or container shall be readily available both indoors and in the outdoor activity area. LPA advised per Health and Safety Code 1597.16(a)(1) Lead Testing and PIN-21-21-CCP Assembly Bill (AB) 2370, Chapter 676, Statutes of 2018, requires all licensed Child Care Centers (CCCs) constructed before January 1, 2010 to test their drinking water for lead contamination between January 1, 2020 and January 1, 2023, and then every 5 years after the date of the first test.
Per Written Directive 100700(c)(1) Written Directives for Lead Testing (1) For a license issued on or after July 1, 2022, initial testing results shall be received and posted within 180 days of licensure.
