25 | On June 27, 2024, Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Susana Martinez and Elizabeth George conducted an unannounced Case Management- Other inspection. LPAs met with Licensee Rosalba Rodriguez and advised the purpose of the inspection. LPAs were provided a tour of the facility inside and outside of the home. There were 5 children in care at the time of the inspection.
While conducting an inspection to follow up on an incident, LPA's observed a baby walker in the backyard. Baby walkers are not permitted in a licensed facility. LPA's also observed a water play table containing 2 inches of water in the backyard which Licensee states was empty earlier this morning. While touring the backyard, LPAs also observed spiky succulents located in an easily accessible area to children which could be a potential risk to children in care.
LPAs interviewed the Licensee regarding the above mentioned observations. Licensee stated the walker has been on the premises for about a year and denies using it for childcare. Licensee states the water play table is emptied out every day. LPAs reminded Licensee of bodies of water potential dangers and advised that water play shall be supervised at all times. When asked about making the succulents Licensee states the children are good at not going to that area. LPA recommended for Licensee to place a secure barrier to prevent the children, especially infants, from having access to the plants.
Based on LPAs observations two technical violations and one technical advisory note were issued during today's inspection.
A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted on, or immediately adjacent to, the interior side of the main door for 30 days. LPA provided a pictorial handout of items not permitted in a licensed facility.
Exit interview conducted, appeal rights were given and report was reviewed with Licensee Rosalba Rodriguez.
