25 | On May 27, 2026, at 8:45 AM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Joaquin Mendez conducted an unannounced Annual/Random inspection of the above-mentioned Family Child Care Home (FCCH). LPA met with Minerva Santos, Licensee of the FCCH. LPA Mendez explained the purpose of the inspection. LPA notes 6 children are present at the time of inspection with one assistant (S1). LPA notes one child is an infant.
LPA in the company of the Licensee, toured the interior and exterior of the home. The home is a single level home, which consists of four (4) bedrooms, three (3) bathrooms, including guest room, living room, family room, kitchen, dining area, laundry room, garage and completely fenced back yard. LPA notes that the day care services occur in the family room, hallway bathroom, and completely fenced backyard outdoor play area.
LPA observed a safety doorknob covers on the bedroom doors, laundry room, guest room, and garage doors making these areas inaccessible to day-care children. LPA observed safety gates at the entrances of the kitchen, dining room, hall leading to the bathroom, and living room, along with safety locks on drawers and cabinets making these areas inaccessible to children in care.
The FCCH is clean, orderly, and has ventilation to afford for the children’s comfort. Sharps, medications and cleaning supplies are stored in an elevated cabinet. These items are stored beyond children’s reach. At 10:24AM the bathroom was observed to have accessible toothpaste, lotion, and a Febreze spray. LPA observed and tested a combination of smoke and a carbon monoxide detector at 10:24 AM. Detectors were found to be operational. The FCCH has a regulation fire extinguisher (2A10BC) that was purchased on 1/19/2026. LPA reminded the Licensee to either service or purchase a regulation fire extinguisher annually.
