25 | On October 30, 2024 Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Susana Martinez conducted an unannounced Case Management- Licensee Initiated inspection for an increase of capacity. LPA met with Licensee Diana Ochoa and advised her of the purpose for the inspection. At the time of inspection there were 4 children in the care of Licensee and newly hired assistant. Licensee denies having guns/ammunition in the home.
The residence is a single story home that consists of 5 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, kitchen, dining area, living room, a sun room, attached garage, and a detached garage. The home's dining area, living room, sun room and 2 bathrooms will be used for child care purposes while the remainder of the home will be excluded from care. The fireplace in the living-room was observed to be barricaded by a fence to prevent children from having access. No bodies of water were observed at the time of inspection
A fire clearance was granted by the Santa Maria Fire Department on 10/16/2024. Fire Marshall notes that garage should not be utilized as part of the family day care. The home meets Title 22 Regulations for a Large Family Child Care Home (FCCH). Large License is effective today 10/30/2024.
LPA advised Licensee that once licensed for a Large FCCH, the capacity limitations shall be maintained at all times. When there is no qualified assistant, the capacity must revert back to the requirements of a Small FCCH. Licensee must notify the parents when caring for more than 12 children using the form LIC9150.
No deficiencies were issued during today's inspection. LPA provided a pictorial handout of ratio/capacity for a Large FCCH. LPA also went over requirements for a qualified assistant.
Notice of site visit was given and should remain posted for 30 consecutive days. Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with Licensee, Diana Ochoa. |
