On September 18, 2024 Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Giovani Gonzalez conducted an unannounced Case Management - Change of Capacity inspection at the above-mentioned Family Child Care Home. LPA met with Licensee Luz Tovilla Nolasco and informed them the purpose of the inspection. At the time of the inspection 3 children were present.

LPA in the company of the Licensee toured the FCCH. LPA notes that during the inspection 2 children were napping. LPA observed the home to be clean and orderly. LPA observed some disinfecting wipes on an outside counter and advised Licensee too ensure those items are out of reach when children are outside. LPA also reminded applicant that all cleaning compounds should be out of reach of children.

LPA observed a fire extinguisher that satisfies regulation (2A10BC) that was serviced 5/16/2024. LPA reminded Licensee the responsibility to service or purchase a regulation fire extinguisher annually. LPA reviewed Licensee’s Mandated Reporter Training certificate which was completed 3/1/2024 . LPA reviewed Licensee’s Pediatric CPR/First Aid which was completed 1/31/2024. LPA observed the home to have a combination smoke and carbon monoxide detector in the home. LPA notes the detector was not tested during the inspection due to napping children. Licensee stated they test the detectors regularly.

The Licensee submitted documentation for a FCCH change of capacity. The Licensee is seeking to change the FCCH’s capacity from 8 (Small FCCH) to 14 (Large FCCH). The Santa Maria Fire Department granted a fire clearance following an inspection completed at FCCH on 8/28/2024.

The home meets Title 22 of CCR requirements for a Large Family Child Care license. The effective date of license is today 9/18/2024.

Exit interview was conducted and Notice of Site visit was given.
