On June 28, 2024, Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Giovani Gonzalez and Elizabeth George conducted an announced Prelicensing - Change of location inspection at the above-mentioned residence. LPAs met with applicant, Janet Garcia-Alapizco and informed them the purpose of the inspection. LPAs in the company of the Applicant toured the interior and exterior of the home in its entirety. At the time of the inspection there were no children present
Applicant requested a change of location and a change of capacity for a Family Child Care Home on 5/31/24. The residence is a single story house, consisting of 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, living room, play room, kitchen, front patio and backyard. The home's 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom, play room, living room, front patio and backyard will be used for child care purposes while the remainder of the home will be excluded from care.
LPAs observed the home to have plenty of ventilation and space for children in care. LPAs observed children's areas to be clean and orderly. LPAs observed the play room to have children's equipment and to be free of hazards. LPAs observed a fire place in the home's living room to be covered with a gate. LPAs observed the gate to loose at the bottom. LPAs advised applicant that the fire place must be completely secured prior to being licensed. LPAs observed the bedroom to be used for napping purposes to be clean and orderly. LPAs observed there to be bassinets in the bedroom and informed applicant that only play pens or cribs are permitted for napping infants. LPAs advised applicant that they would need to be removed from the nap room prior to being licensed. LPAs observed a cable to be hanging above one of the playpens, within reach of children, and informed applicant that it must be removed prior to licensure as well. LPAs observed the bathroom to be clean and free of toxins. LPAs observed the kitchen area to be accessible to children. Applicant informed LPAs that they will be keeping their cleaning compounds under the sink and sharps in an elevated cabinet. LPAs informed applicant that they must ensure that cleaning compounds and sharps are inaccessible to children. Applicant stated that they will be making bedrooms inaccessible to children with child proof gates.
