32 | observed the backyard to have a storage shed which is made inaccessible with the fence. LPA reminded applicant they must ensure the gate for the children's area must be secured when children are present to ensure cactus plant and storage shed are inaccessible to children.
LPA observed a fire extinguisher that satisfies regulation (2A10BC) which was purchased on 02/07/2025. LPA reminded applicant that it is their responsibility to purchase or service a regulation fire extinguisher annually. LPA observed the home has a smoke detector and carbon monoxide detector (tested 10:09 AM) which were found in working order. Applicant stated that there are no fire arms in the home.
LPA's record review revealed applicant completed Preventative Health Training on 8/23/24 and Mandated Reporter Training on 8/7/24. Further, applicant completed Pediatric CPR/First Aid (EMSA approved) on 7/20/24 and the FCCH orientation on 1/24/23. LPA reminded applicant of the obligation to maintain current training and certification.
Applicant was reminded that all adults 18 and over living in the home, persons who provide care and supervision to children, and staff who have contact with children, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5-days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30-days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
The applicant provided proof of control of property.
