On January 13, 2025 at 12:30 PM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Gigi Reyes conducted an announced pre-licensing inspection at the above home. LPA met with the applicant, Jessica Gonzalez and discussed the purpose of the inspection. Applicant's child was present. Applicant plans to care for 0 age to 12 years old.

Applicant and LPA toured the home. This is a one story dwelling, consists of 4 bedrooms, 2 baths, 1st living room, 2nd living room for napping, sun room for additional day care activities, kitchen, dining, garage, and fenced backyard. Areas accessible to children will be the 2 living rooms, dining area, and backyard. LPA observed cots, small chairs, table, age-appropriate toys, books, and equipment for children in the home. LPA observed that the backyard is completely fenced. Off limits are kitchen with a retractable gate to prevent access and garage with a child

It was noted that knives and cleaning materials are kept inaccessible to children in care. The bathroom for children’s use is free of toxins during the time of the inspection. The 2A10 BC fire extinguisher was serviced on 12/29/2024. Carbon monoxide and smoke detectors were tested and found to be functional. The applicant stated that there are no guns and ammunition in the home. LPA did not observe any bodies of water. Santa Barbara County Fire Department granted the fire clearance on 1/9/2025

Applicant completed the Family Child Care Home orientation on July 30, 2022 . Preventative Health and Safety and Nutrition June 1, 2023. Pediatric 1st Aid/CPR certificate expires on October 17, 2026 while the Mandated Reporter Training was completed on October 6, 2023 which expires on October 6, 2025. Applicant was reminded that AB 1207 and Pediatric CPR should be renewed every 2 years. The applicant stated that she carries insurance liability for the FCCH.

LPA discussed the requirement for care providers/employees, including volunteers, to obtain immunization against Influenza, Pertussis, Measles, including verification of TB, with applicant's verification being on file.

Prohibited items and equipment in the FCCH, such as walkers, bouncers, etc., were also reviewed with the applicant, as well as the LIC 311D Forms/Records To Keep In Your Family Child Care Homes, children’s forms/records, facility forms/records, and information to be posted. Children's record-keeping requirements were also reviewed.

Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. For IMS information see PIN 22-02-CCP. When any IMS is provided, a Plan for Providing IMS must be submitted to the Department. LPA also informed applicant of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at: https://www.cpsc.gov/, and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment.

On this date, January 13, 2025, the California Attorney General - Megan’s Law website was searched for information on sex offenders required to register with local law enforcement under California's Megan's Law. No registered sex offenders were found at the facility addresses. Under state law, some registered sex offenders are not subject to public; therefore, they may not have been included in this search. However, the Department conducts a monthly cross reference of each address on record for all registered sex offenders against all CCLD facility addresses pursuant to information shared by California DOJ.

Applicant was informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org site, a consumer education website that helps families obtain childcare by connecting them to childcare providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California.

The applicant, Jessica Gonzalez leases the home and provided proof of control of property. Because the applicant rents/leases the home, proof of landlord notification is required. The LPA observed the Property Owner/Landlord Notification form (LIC9151) that the applicant confirms was provided to the property owner/landlord. The applicant obtained a signed Property Owner/Landlord Consent form (LIC 9149).

During today's inspection, no deficiency was cited. Large Family Child Care Home License was issued and effective today, January 13, 2025.

A notice of site visit was given to applicant, and must remain posted on, or immediately adjacent to, the interior side of the main door for 30 days.

Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the applicant, Jessica Gonzalez.
