On March 12, 2025, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Giovani Gonzalez conducted an announced Prelicensing - Change of location inspection at the above-mentioned residence. LPA met with applicant Maria Castillo and informed them the purpose of the inspection. At time of the inspection no children were present. The applicant has the intention to provide care for children ages 0-12 years old and to have operating hours of 5AM - 8PM, Monday through Sunday.
LPA in the company of the applicant toured the interior and exterior of the residence in its entirety. The residence is a single story home consisting of 4 bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms, living room, family room, dining room, kitchen, and back patio. The home's living room, family room, half bathroom, dining room will be used for child care purposes while the remainder of the home will be excluded from care. LPA notes the home's garage is being converted into an ADU.
LPA observed the interior of the home to be clean and orderly. LPA observed the family room to be clean and free of hazards. LPA observed the fire place to be secured with a gate that is secured to the wall. LPA observed the living room to be clean and free of hazards as well. LPA observed the living room to have children's equipment in good condition. LPA observed the dining room to be free of hazards as well. LPA observed the kitchen to be accessible and that all lower kitchen cabinets/drawers were secured or free of hazards. LPA observed sharps to be stored in an elevated cabinet beyond the reach of children in care. LPA observed medication to be stored in an elevated cabinet beyond the reach of children as well. LPA observed the bathroom to be clean and free of hazards. LPA observed cleaning compounds to be stored in an elevated cabinet beyond the reach of children outside the children's bathroom. LPA observed bedrooms are made inaccessible with a child proof gate located at the entrance of the hallway. LPA reminded applicant in order for the bedrooms to be inaccessible the gate must remain locked when children are present.
