32 | Children rest in cribs and LPA observed a separate crib area within the classroom via a transparent partition at least four feet high and constructed of sound-absorbing material. LPA observed cribs to be firm and covered with a fitted sheet that is appropriate to the mattress size, fits tightly on the mattress, and overlaps the underside of the mattress so it cannot be dislodged. Older infants rest on cots and LPA observed sufficient supply. LPA observed cribs to be arranged to provide a walkway and workspace between the cribs. LPA advised applicant must adhere to Safe Sleep Regulations at all times.
LPA observed two changing tables within arms reach of sink that have padded surfaces no less than one-inch thick, raised sides at least three inches high, and covered with washable vinyl or plastic. Feeding tables have broad-based legs and washable seating and backing.
Disinfectants, cleaning solutions, poisons and other items that could pose a danger if readily available to children stored outside of the classroom in a staff room. LPA observed moveable trash bins, that have a tightfitting cover, are in good repair, leakproof and rodent-proof. LPA observed first aid kits, fire extinguisher last serviced on 3/1/2025 and carbon testing and functioning at the time of the inspection. Per applicant, no firearms or ammunition are present on property.
LPA observed one outdoor area with regulation perimeter fencing. Play area provides ample shade, age-appropriate toys and equipment and soft material under play equipment and sandbox free of debris. Near the rear of play area, LPA observed a small stream installed by applicant. Stream is closed, recirculating system which access is obtained by a covered box at least 5 feet in height, accessible only to staff. LPA observed drainage system inaccessible to children and applicant tested water function. At the lowest point, water does not gather over 1/4 of one inch. LPA observed a small, thin, slow-moving flow of water with no pooling at any point. System is on a timer of 5 minutes only and can be turned off at any time during the duration. Applicant provided a written plan to the Department including all supervision practices, monitoring of system function, confirmation water feature is shut off when not in use, and proper maintenance.
