Licensing Program Analyst(LPA) Anna Morales conducted an initial Complaint inspection for the above allegation. LPA Anna Morales met Director Whitney Lukanc.

During the course of this investigation, LPA conducted observation and inspected the physical plant and interviewed staff. LPA interviewed Director of Maintenance, Grounds, Operations and Transportation, Adam Florez, Maintenance Manager Dan Maes and John Silva, Maintenance of the Santa Clara Unified School District.

Based on the information obtained, Mr. Adam Florez stated that there was evidence of rodent droppings inside Classroom 22. He, also, stated that the contracted exterminator services have been providing services to ensure they remain free of the rodents.

Based on interviews conducted, the preponderance of evidence standard has been met. Therefore, the above allegation is found to be SUBSTANTIATED. California Code of Regulations, Title 22, Division 12 is being cited on the next page. Licensee/Director was informed that failure to correct the deficiencies may result in civil penalties.
