25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Mel Matos conducted an unannounced Annual/Required Inspection. LPA met with Christy "Michelle" Bermudez, Director, and explained the purpose today's inspection. Facility License, Notification of Parents’ Right Poster, Child Car Seat Law, Personal Rights (LIC 613A), Emergency Disaster Plan, Menus, Activity Schedule, and Earthquake Preparedness Checklist were observed on the postings board, located in the main lobby area of the Facility. Operating hours are Monday through Friday 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM. The Preschool Program utilizes six classrooms: DP1, DP2, P1, P2, Pre K, and KG. The Facility serves children ages 2 years to entry into first grade.
The indoor and outdoor areas were toured during today's inspection. LPA observed that the facility was operating in compliance with teacher to children ratio requirements during today's inspection. Cleaning products, disinfectants, sharp objects were stored inaccessible to children. Any poisons are locked. Furniture and equipment were observed to be age appropriate and in good condition. Michele states that the facility has a third party cleaning service that comes after day care hours to clean the facility.
Foods and beverages are kept protected against contamination and spoilage. The food preparation and storage areas are clean, free of litter & rubbish, and free of rodents and other vermin. All food and beverages that require refrigeration are stored in covered containers at 45 degrees F or less. Drinking water is available for the children indoors via sippie cups, individual reusable water bottles, and water dispensers.
Staff and children's bathrooms are clean, sanitary, and operable. There is a separate staff bathroom not utilized by the children which an isolated child can use if needed. LPA observed trash cans with tight fitting lids for the disposal of solid waste throughout the Facility. There is a separate trash can with tight fitting cover for the disposal of diapers in rooms that provide potty training. Fire extinguisher, working smoke and carbon monoxide detectors were observed. Michelle states that there are no firearms in the facility. |
