Licensing Program Analysts(LPA's) Anna Morales and Joe Macias conducted an Announced Case Management Inspection. The LPAs were greeted and granted entrance by Anne Horgan, Program Director and Site Director, Yareli Martinez. The infant License recently completed reconstruction and renovation, and a Fire Clearance was granted for a capacity of 23 on 8/1/2023. The facility has been in INACTIVE STATUS during the reconstruction phase.
During today's visit, LPA's measured the two infant classrooms and the two infant playgrounds.

1. Classroom CDC29:
25.667x 19.500=500.50 sq ft
Encumbered space= 3 x 9=27sq ft
500.50-27=473.50
473.50 divided by 35=13 children

2. Classroom CDC33:
19.917x 26.250=522.82 sq ft
Encumbered space=-10 ft x 11.33=113.33 sq ft
522.82- 113.33=409.49
409.49 divided by 35=11

TOTAL INDOOR SPACE = 24 children

TOTAL OUTDOOR SPACE =
2,050.78+1725.72=3,776.50 divided 75=50 children

In Classroom CDC29, LPA's observed 12 cubbies, two tables, 13 chairs, 13 cots and two sinks. In Classroom CDC33, LPA's observed, 12 cubbies, six cribs, two tables, 8 chairs and 3 sinks and two toilets. Each classrooms were equipped with Fire Extinguishers. The smoke/carbon monoxide detectors are hard wired.

Directors was reminded that all adults 18 and over responsible for administration or direct supervision of staff, persons who provides care and supervision to children, and staff who have contact with children, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5-days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30-days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.

This facility plans to provide Incidental Medical Services – IMS. For IMS information, see PIN 22-02-CCP. A Plan of Operation that includes IMS must be submitted to the Department. LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with Directors and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at: https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-andresources/safe-sleep, as an additional resource. LPA also informed Directors of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at: https://www.cpsc.gov/, and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment.

Directors was informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org site, a consumer education website that helps families obtain child care by connecting them to child care providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California.
