25 | On 08/11/2023, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Farida Raja, conducted an unannounced 1- year annual inspection. LPA was granted access to the home by Licensee, Narumi Tashiro and explained the nature of today’s inspection. Present in the home were licensee, licensee daughter/assistant and three children including one infant and two preschoolers. Licensee was operating within the ratio and capacity requirements of the license. Days and hours of operation are Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 6:00 pm. LPA observed all required posted materials near the front entrance to the home. This facility has a waiver on file for a trampoline. Licensee stated that she does not have a trampoline anymore. The adults that reside in the home are licensee, spouse and two daughters.
LPA toured the indoor and outdoor areas of the home during today's inspection. Licensee has a working telephone in the home (408-981-8654). LPA observed sufficient materials, toys, and play equipment for the day care children. Furniture, such as tables, chairs, cribs, feeding chairs and shelves, are in good condition. LPA observed two baby bouncers in the on limit family room. The home has central heating/cooling and ventilation for comfort of children. The home is single story. Off limit areas inside the home: master bedroom, master bathroom, three bedrooms, one bathroom, laundry and attached garage. LPA observed two fireplaces one in the living and the other in the family room. Both fireplaces are barricaded with a glass cover. Off limit areas outside the home: storage shed. Backyard is fenced. LPA observed garden tools in the on limit grass area and fertilizer/pesticides near the front entrance to the home. LPA observed barricaded stairs outdoors from the deck to the lower grass level during today's inspection. The outdoor space and play equipment were observed to be age appropriate and free of hazards. There are no bodies of water observed. LPA observed that the bathroom used by children was in operating condition. Toilets and faucet are clean and operable. LPA observed mouthwash, lysol wipes, lens solution and other toiletries under the bathroom sink which is not secured with a child lock. LPA informed Licensee that these times need to be placed out of reach of children in a high inaccessible location or secured with a child lock.
