25 | On 04/04/2024 at 1:43pm, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Farida Raja, conducted an unannounced annual inspection. LPA was granted access to the home by Licensee, Francisca Chavez and explained the nature of today’s inspection. Present in the home were licensee, assistant and seven children including three school age, three preschool age, and one infant. Licensee was operating within the ratio and capacity requirements of the license. Days and hours of operation are Monday to Friday, 7:30 am to 5:30 pm. LPA observed all required posted materials near the front entrance to the home. Licensee has one waiver to allow a wood fired stove not to be screened. Licensee stated that she does not have the stove any more and LPA did not observe one during today's visit. Therefore the waiver is not longer required. The adults that reside in the home are License and assistant. No minor children reside in the home.
LPA toured the indoor and outdoor areas of the home during today's inspection. Licensee has a working telephone in the home (408-229-8692). LPA observed sufficient materials, toys, and play equipment for the day care children. Furniture, such as tables, chairs, cribs, feeding chairs and shelves, are in good condition. Children were napping during today's inspection. The home has central heating/cooling and ventilation for comfort of children. LPA observed child proof locks on cabinets to secure items that are to be inaccessible to children. Off limit areas inside the home: master bedroom, master bathroom and two bedrooms. Off limit areas outside the home is the gated right side area. Backyard is fenced and both sides of the home are gated. The outdoor space and play equipment were observed to be age appropriate and free of hazards. There are no bodies of water observed. LPA observed that the bathroom used by children was in operating condition. Toilets and faucet are clean and operable. The shower area is free of any hazards.
LPA observed a fully charged 2A10BC fire extinguisher in the converted garage area and working smoke/carbon monoxide detectors. Licensee states that she does not have any weapons in the home. Licensee has one pet dog who is fully vaccinated. All detergents, cleaning compounds, poisons, medications, sharp objects and other similar items were observed to be stored inaccessible to children. Licensee understands that smoking is prohibited in the home.
