25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Mel Matos met with Sandra Fonseca, Licensee, for an unannounced Required – 1 year annual inspection. LPA was granted access to the home by the Licensee. LPA also observed Licensee's spouse (Elba Ambrosio) and eleven day care children (3 infants & 8 preschool) in the home during today's inspection. Licensee was operating within her capacity and ratio requirements. LPA observed the required postings, including the facility license, near the front entrance to the day care. Days and hours of operation are Monday - Friday from 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM. The adults residing in the home are: Licensee, one adult renter (Francisco Martinez), and Licensee's 18 year old daughter. Licensee also has a 16 year old daughter residing in the home.
LPA reviewed a current Child Care Facility Roster and Fire/Disaster drill log during today's inspection. The last fire/disaster drill was completed on April 11, 2023. Licensee states that she has liability insurance for the day care through Allstate Insurance. Licensee has current CPR and First Aid certifications. Licensee & her adult assistant has the required vaccines (MMR, Tdap, & flu) and is current with her Mandated Reporter Training for Child Care Workers. LPA reviewed five children's files and the files were complete with the required forms. LPA reviewed two staff files (Licensee & adult assistant) and the file was complete with the required forms. Licensee states that a child will be isolated in the dining room area if necessary due to illness or communicable disease.
LPA toured the indoor and outdoor areas of the home during today's inspection. Licensee has a working telephone in the home. The home is clean, orderly, (including central heating/air conditioning/ventilation), and safe for the day care children. There are safe and age appropriate toys, play equipment, and materials for the children in the home. LPA did not observe any wall heaters units, fireplace units, or stairs inside the home. Off limit areas in the home: three bedrooms, one bathroom, locked hallway bathroom vanity, and locked hallway bathroom cabinet. Off limit areas outside the home: left side section of the backyard.
LPA observed a fully charged 3A40BC fire extinguisher, working smoke/carbon monoxide detectors, no bodies of water, and fenced backyard. The Licensee states that she does not have any weapons in the home. Licensee states that she has one poodle mix dog that is vaccinated and kept in the off limits backyard area of the home. All detergents, cleaning compounds, medications, and other similar items are stored inaccessible to children. Any poisons are locked and inaccessible to the day care children. |
