25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Mel Matos met with Zaidee Tumangan, Licensee, for an unannounced Required – 1 year annual inspection. LPA was granted access to the home by the Licensee. LPA also observed one adult assistant (Ginalyn Barrozo) and nine preschool children in the home during today's inspection. Licensee was operating within her capacity and ratio requirements. LPA observed the required postings, including the facility license, near the front entrance to the home. Days and hours of operation are Monday - Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM. The adults that reside in the home are: Zaidee Tumangan (Licensee) and Zaidee's spouse (Victorey Tumangan). There are no minor children residing in the home.
LPA reviewed a current Child Care Facility Roster and Fire/Disaster drill log during today's inspection. The last fire/disaster drill was completed on March 8, 2023. Licensee states that she has liability insurance through Markel Insurance and LPA observed a current policy verifying valid coverage. Licensee and her adult assistant has current CPR and First Aid certifications (expiration: 08/20/2024 - Licensee & 09/30/2023 - Assistant). Licensee and her adult assistant has the required vaccines (MMR, Tdap, & flu) and are current with her Mandated Reporter Training for Child Care Workers. LPA reviewed six children's files and the files were complete with the required forms. LPA reviewed two staff files (Licensee & one adult assistant) and the files were complete with the required forms. Licensee states that a child will be isolated in the kitchen/dining room area if necessary due to illness or communicable disease.
LPA toured the indoor and outdoor areas of the home during today's inspection. Licensee has a working telephone in the home. The home is clean, orderly, (including central heating/ventilation), and safe for the day care children. There are safe and age appropriate toys, play equipment, and materials for the children in the home. LPA did not observe any wall heaters units or stairs inside the home. Off limit areas in the home: two bedrooms, two bathrooms, 1 barricaded fireplace (located in the living room), and attached garage. Off limit areas outside the home: left & back side of the backyard. Licensee states that the children are sometimes taken to the park to play. The Licensee understands that the children need to be supervised at all times while playing outdoors.
LPA observed a fully charged 3A40BC fire extinguisher, working smoke/carbon monoxide detectors, no bodies of water, and fenced backyard. The Licensee states that she does not have any weapons in the home. Licensee states that she has one dog (Schnauzer mix) that is vaccinated and kept in off limits areas of the home during day care hours. All detergents, cleaning compounds, medications, and other similar items are stored inaccessible to children. Any poisons are locked and inaccessible to the day care children. |
