25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Mel Matos met with Ramasatya Rao, Licensee, for an unannounced Annual/Random inspection. LPA was granted access to the home by the Licensee. LPA also observed five day care children (1 infant & 7 preschool) and Licensee's spouse, Rama Rao, in the home during today's inspection. Licensee was operating within her capacity and ratio requirements. Licensee states that cares for children ages 1-3 years of age. LPA observed the required postings, including the facility license, near the front entrance to the home. Days and hours of operation are Monday - Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The adults residing in the home are: Licensee and Licensee's spouse (Rama Rao).
LPA reviewed a current Child Care Facility Roster and Fire/Disaster drill log during today's inspection. The last fire/disaster drill was completed on February 28, 2024. Licensee states that she does have not have liability insurance and provides the Affidavit Regarding Liability Insurance for Family Child Care Home (LIC 282) to all enrolled families. Licensee has current CPR and First Aid certifications (expiration: July 2024). Licensee and her spouse has the required vaccines (MMR, Tdap, & flu) and is current with her Mandated Reporter Training for Child Care Workers (expiration: 09/03/2025). LPA reviewed five children's files and the files were complete with the required forms, including the Infant Sleep Log for one infant child. LPA reviewed two staff files (Licensee & spouse) and the file was complete with the required forms. Licensee states that a child will be isolated in the living room area if necessary due to illness or communicable disease.
LPA toured the indoor and outdoor areas of the home during today's inspection. Licensee has a working telephone in the home. The home is clean, orderly, (including heating/air conditioning/ventilation), and safe for the day care children. There are safe & age appropriate toys, play equipment, and materials for the children in the home. There are no stairs or wall heater units inside the home. Main areas of the day care are: living room, kitchen/dining room, and family room. Off limit areas in the home: master bedroom, master bathroom, two bedrooms, one furnace closet, one barricaded fireplace (located in the living room), and attached garage. Off limit areas outside the home: one locked storage shed, located in the backyard.
LPA observed a fully charged 2A10BC fire extinguisher, working smoke/carbon monoxide detectors, no bodies of water, and fenced backyard. The Licensee states that she does not have any pets or weapons in the home. All detergents, cleaning compounds, medications, and other similar items are inaccessible to children. Licensee states that there are no poisons in the home. Licensee states that she does not administer any medications to the day care children. |
