25 | On 08/12/2026, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Jaime Gonzales conducted an unannounced annual continuation inspection. LPA was granted access to the home by the Licensee, Erika De Pierola. Other adults in the home was Licensee's husband who is also her assistant, and a background cleared adult.
Upon arrival there were three infants, and 8 preschoolers. The home was toured to conduct a Health and Safety Inspection. LPA observed a operable smoke detector/carbon monoxide detector. LPA reminded Licensee that smoking, sleep sacks, baby walkers, and similar items are not allowed in Family Child Care Homes.
Personnel records are available for review and LPA reviewed the licensee file, which has all required paperwork. LPA observed Licensee CPR and First Aid certificate is current and expires on 07/11/2028. Licensee was reminded of Mandated Reporter Training (AB1207) and CPR/First aid certifications needs to be renewed every two years. A copy of the licensee’s immunization is on file. LPA reviewed 6 children's files and all have complete paperwork including documentation of infant 15 minute sleep logs.
Forms of discipline to be used by Licensee are redirecting and talking with the child. Licensee understands that children's personal rights should not be violated, including but not limited to, no corporal punishment, interference with eating, sleeping, intimidation, or other actions of a punitive nature. Children are treated with dignity, and receive safe, healthful, and comfortable accommodations.
During the exit interview, Licensee confirmed that there are no Registered Sex Offenders living in the facility and LPA completed the RSO profile in FAS. Megan's Law was checked on 06/01/2026.
