25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Anna Morales conducted an ANNUAL REQUIRED inspection and was greeted by Licensee Karen Roh, and her assistant. The Day care hours of operation are Monday- Friday, 7:00am - 6:00pm. The Licensee and son at the only adults residing at the home. LPA reviewed a current Child Care Facility Roster and Fire/Disaster drill log during today's inspection. Last disaster drill was completed on August 2,2024. LPA observed six children( two infants and four preschool aged children) engaging with activities with assistant.
Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
LPA observed a barricaded fireplace located in the living room. Detergents, cleaning compounds, medications, and other hazardous items are inaccessible to the children. LPA observed sufficient age appropriate play equipment for the children in the home. The home is clean, orderly, and safe for the children. Off limit areas outside the home: detached garage, right side section of the backyard, barricaded air conditioner unit (located in the back right side section of the backyard), and fenced garbage can area. There are no stairs inside the home. Observed mats and playpen for the children to take naps in the activity room and two bedrooms. The Licensee has a working telephone in the home. LPA did not observe any wall heaters in the home.
