Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Marilou Monico met with Denise Reyes, Program Lead, for an unannounced Required - 1 Year Inspection. LPA explained to Denise the purpose of today's inspection. LPA observed all the required posted materials. This facility has no active waivers. The center's operating hours are Monday through Friday 09:00 AM - 6:00 PM. The preschool program is licensed in Rooms 16 & 17. Denise states that no one is currently enrolled in the program but licensee wants to keep the license on active status.

The indoor and outdoor areas of the facility were inspected. Furniture and equipment were observed to be age appropriate and in good condition, free of sharp, loose, or pointed parts. Cleaning products and other items that are dangerous to children were in locked cabinets. Floors were clean. The preschool children will use the girls' bathroom (1 toilet and 2 sinks) and boys' bathroom (2 toilets and 2 sinks) in between Rooms 16 and 17. There is a separate staff stall available located in the girl's bathroom which an isolated child can use if needed.

Denise states that there are no firearms in the facility. Drinking water is readily available for the children indoor and outdoor via individual water bottles and pitchers and disposable cups. The preschool children will use the kindergarten playground next to the Library. The playground has climbing structures with tanbarks as resilient material underneath and around the structures. Shade is provided by trees and building overhang. There were no bodies of water observed.

LPA reviewed two (2) staff files. LPA reminded Site Director that Mandated Reporter Training must be reviewed by all staff every two years.
