25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Sidney Cortez, conducted an unannounced annual/random inspection to the facility today. LPA met with Administrator Director, Siyao (Sarah) Song and explained the nature of today's inspection to her. LPA toured the facility both inside and outside during today's inspection. LPA observed the required posted materials, including the Facility License, Emergency Disaster Plan (LIC 610), Earthquake Preparedness Checklist (LIC 9148), Parents' Rights Poster (PUB 393), Personal Rights (LIC 613A), Child Car Seat Law (PUB 269), Snack Menus (includes current and following weeks) and Activity Schedule. LPA observed 61 preschool children and 11 teachers.
Walk Through Indoor: LPA observed no bodies of water indoor. Director states there are no weapons at the center. All children are under supervision, including visual supervision during the inspection; and the facility is operating within ratio. Temperature was measured 70 degree F by thermostats on the walls. Disinfectants, cleaning solutions, poisons and other items that are dangerous to children are stored inaccessible to children. Storage areas for poisons are locked in the office. All materials and surfaces accessible to children are toxic free. First aid box and sunscreen Medication is stored in a lockbox in the office inaccessible to children. Children’s toilets and hand washing appears in safe and sanitary operating conditions. There are separate staff bathrooms in the office and hallway not utilized by the children which an isolated child can use if needed. Floors appear clean and safe. Director stated that they hired outside cleaners to clean the campus in school closed hours everyday. Furniture and equipment is age appropriate and in good condition free of sharp, loose, or pointed parts at the time of the inspection. Kitchen, food preparation, and storage areas appeared clean, free of litter, rubbish, and rodents/vermin. All food is protected from contamination, and Director states that contaminated food is discarded immediately. Facility provides Fat free milk, and all the food are current. Trash cans for solid waste have tight-fitting covers on, and are in good repairs. Director stated children bring their own lunches, school provides snacks. Children also bring their own bottles and drinking water is readily available for refill in each room via a 5 gallon water tank and in the outdoor playground area via water bottles. Foods or beverages that are perishable are stored in covered containers at 45 (F) or less. Facility has a functioning carbon monoxide detector in each of the classroom that meets statutory requirements.
