Licensing Program Analyst(LPA), Mandeep Kaur conducted an Unannounced Case Management - Licensee Initiated Inspection in response to Infant Room 4 nap area expansion and to update the age group to serve the children of 6 months to 2 years old in Room 4. LPA met with Director, Evangeline Ponce and explained the nature of today's inspection to Director. The Infant Program currently serves children ages 12 months to 24 months with the capacity of 14 children. Capacity of 14 children remains the same in Room 4. The center will be operating Monday through Friday 08:00 AM to 6:00 PM. The Facility received a fire safety inspection approval from the Sunnyvale Fire Department on 01/28/2025 for adding a nap area space to infant room to serve children ages 6 months to 2 years old. The infant program has a waiver on file for sharing outdoor area and electronic signing in and out. LPA toured and measured the indoor and outdoor areas of the Facility during today's inspection with Director.

Infant Indoor measurements are:

The Indoor total measurements contain a total of {493.82} square feet, which will accommodate Licensee’s request for 14 infants.

Outdoor total measurements contain a total of {4210.84} square feet, which will
accommodate Licensee's request for 14 infants.

LPA observed an infant classroom to be clean, safe, sanitary and in good repair. A comfortable temperature for children shall be maintained at all times. Furniture and equipment were observed to be maintained in good condition, free of sharp, loose or pointed parts. All materials and surfaces accessible to children, including toys, shall be free of toxic substances. All play equipment and materials used by children were observed to be age-appropriate. There are 15 chairs, 2 tables, 2 sinks, 20 cubbies, 10 cots, 4 cribs, 1 changing table, 1 toilet available for infants. Staff have one separate bathroom that can be utilized by sick children if needed. Sick children will be isolated in the office area in of the facility. First aid supplies, medication, and cleaning products are stored in the upper cabinets. LPA observed containers with tight-fitting lids for the disposal of solid waste and diapers.

LPA observed fully charged fire extinguisher, smoke and carbon monoxide detectors at the facility. Storage areas for poisons shall be locked. LPA observed a changing table is within arm’s reach of a sink. Diapering sink is not used for meal preparation or dishwashing. Director stated parents have option to bring food and parents provide milk bottles for infants. There is a microwave and refrigerator available in the kitchen. Director stated that milk is warmed in the microwave for the infants. Director and Licensee representative, Deepti Mohta was reminded to disclose to the parents about milk for the infants, is being warmed in the microwave. First aid supplies, sleep logs, and Infant Needs and Services plans are kept in the infant's room.

LPA observed the facility has a fully fenced outdoor playground Outdoor area for children were free of hazards including, holes, broken glass dry grasses, and other debris that pose a fire hazard. Any construction or equipment that could pose a hazard in the outdoor activity area shall be made inaccessible to children in care. LPA observed play structure with resilient material (rubber foam) under and around the


structure. The fence is at least four feet high. Director understands that no child(ren) shall be left without visual supervision of a teacher at any time. Shade is provided by canopy. LPA observed no bodies of water.

Morning and afternoon snacks is provided for the children. Drinking water is available via filtered water and sippy cups indoor and outdoor areas of the facility.

Director was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.

Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. For IMS information see PIN 22-02- CCP. LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with Director and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-and-resources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed Director of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices
on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and
recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased
equipment.

Director were informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org website; a consumer education website that helps families obtain child care by connecting them to child care providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&R's) throughout California.

Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with Director, Evangeline Ponce. LPA advised Director that license to update the age group to serve the children of 6 months to 2 years old in infant room 4 will be issued upon completion of the following:

1. Licensing Program Manager (LPM) review and approval.
2. One potty chair available to every five infants.
