The facility submitted an application for a change of capacity from 173 to 181 children, adding Rooms 184 & 188, removing Rooms 168 & 173, removing Playground 1, and adding Playground 6/Toddler Yard. Fire clearance was approved on November 3, 2022. The Preschool Program will operate Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, serving children ages 2 years old to entry into kindergarten. LPA toured and measured the indoor and outdoor areas of the facility during today's inspection. The facility has 27 sinks (405) and 13 toilets (195) available for the children. The sinks used by children only have cold running water. There are three (3) staff bathrooms at the facility. The sick children will be using the staff bathroom located next to Maple 4 Room if needed and will be escorted by a staff member. Sick children will be isolated in the Office located next to Maple 3 Room and isolation equipment will be provided. Staff and children's bathrooms are clean, sanitary, and operable.

LPA observed containers with tight-fitting lids for the disposal of solid waste. First aid supplies are stored in each classroom inaccessible to children. Cleaning supplies are stored in the upper cabinet in each room out of reach of children. LPA observed smoke/carbon monoxide detectors and appropriate lighting in each classroom. The facility has central heating and air conditioning. Medications are in a lock box stored in the upper cabinet in every room.

Elvira understands that the facility must be kept free of flies, other insects & rodents. LPA observed that all furniture and equipment indoors are in good condition and safe for the children. Drinking water is readily available for the children indoors via pitchers and disposable cups.

The facility serves meals (breakfast & lunch) and snacks (morning & afternoon). Elvira states that meals and snacks are catered to the center from Kidango Main Kitchen located at 44000 Old Warm Springs Blvd., Fremont, CA 94538.

There are 50 tables, 232 chairs, 266 cubbies, 152 mats and 30 cots for the children. There is adequate equipment, supplies, and toys for the preschool children in each classroom.

This facility provides Incidental Medical Services – IMS. LPA reviewed storage of medication and equipment/supplies, and reviewed children’s, personnel, and administrative records. LPA observed the playgrounds are fully fenced which meet the height requirements. Shades are provided by trees, canopies, and building overhang. Drinking water outdoors are provided via pitchers and disposable cups. No bodies of water were observed.

Fingerprint clearances for individuals working at the facility are issued by the Santa Clara Department of Education and do not come under the jurisdiction of Community Care Licensing Division.

Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with Elvira Cortez, Site Director . LPA advised Elvira that a license for 181 preschool children is approved effective today, November 21, 2022.

There were no deficiencies cited.

A NOTICE OF SITE VISIT WAS GIVEN AND MUST REMAIN POSTED FOR 30 DAYS.
