Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Elizabeth met with Master Teacher, Mayra Lopez for an unannounced Required - 1 year inspection (KIT 2). LPA toured the indoor and outdoor space of the Facility during today's inspection. LPA notes that the Facility is licensed in Room A13 on the campus of the Clyde Arbuckle Elementary School campus. Hours of operation are: 8:15 to 3:15 Monday - Friday. LPA observed the required posted materials, including the Facility License, Emergency Disaster Plan (LIC 610), Earthquake Preparedness Checklist (LIC 9148), Parents' Rights Poster (PUB 393), Personal Rights (LIC 613A), Child Car Seat Law (PUB 269), Menus, and Activity Schedule.
The center has an active waiver to share the playground with Adelante 2 dual language academy. LPA did not observe the usage schedule between the Preschool & Adelante 2 Dual Language Academy posted.

LPA reviewed six children's and three staff files (1 master teacher, 2 teachers) during today's inspection. Each child's file reviewed contains the Information and Emergency Information form (LIC 700). All staff files reviewed contain the required transcripts/verification of experience/immunization records and Health Screening Report.
Two staff are missing the certificates of completion of the Mandated Reporter Training for Child Care Workers in their file. There is at least one staff at the Facility with current CPR and First Aid certifications on file. Mayra understands that there shall be at least one person, with valid CPR and First Aid certifications, on site at all times or present during off-site activities (field trips).

LPA observed that the teacher/child ratio was in compliance during today's inspection. Mayra understands the conditions, limitations, and capacity specifications of the Facility license. Mayra understands that children shall be visually supervised at all times.

LPA observed the master teacher, two teachers & 9 children in room A13.
Any child(ren) who exhibit symptoms of illness including, but not limited to, fever or vomiting, are not accepted in care. Any child(ren) who become ill during the day, shall be isolated in the staff bathroom. The center was grated a waiver for shared bathroom on 09/04/2019.
LPA observed that room A13 is clean and safe for all children, staff, and visitors. Mayra states that janitorial staff from the School District cleans the school Monday through Friday in the evenings. Drinking water is readily available for the children in Rooms A13 and in the outdoor playground area. Each child has a water bottle which is taken outside. Parents also donate bottled water for children. Children's bathroom is clean, sanitary, and operable. There is a separate staff bathroom in the school office. Mayra states that there are no weapons or firearms on the premises. The Facility has functioning carbon monoxide detectors.
The food preparation and storage areas are located in the Clyde Arbuckle Elementary School cafeteria. The preschool provides meals and snacks for the children and food will be prepared and picked up in the cafeteria by staff. Disposable utensils, dishes and cups are utilized for the children. LPA observed solid waste containers with tight-fitting lids in Rooms A13 and outdoors. Cleaning supplies are inaccessible to the children and stored inaccessible to children.

LPA observed all furniture and equipment is in good condition and safe for the children. The playground areas utilized by children is surrounded by appropriate fencing and the outdoor surfaces are safe for the children. LPA observed that the outdoor equipment is age appropriate and in good condition. Shade is provided by trees. There is sufficient resilient material (tan bark) in the outdoor playground areas. LPA did not observe any bodies of water. LPA notes that the playground is shared by two different programs on elementary school site. Mayra is to post usage schedule next to the waiver.

LPA conducted an exit interview with Mayra and advised her that no deficiencies were issued during today's inspection. A copy of this report will be emailed to Mayra at: Mayra.Lopez@thinktogether.org

A NOTICE OF SITE VISIT WILL BE EMAILED TODAY. IT IS TO BE POSTED NEAR THE ENTRANCE TO THE FACILITY, AND MUST REMAIN POSTED FOR 30 DAYS.
