32 | LPAs observed all preschool classrooms to be clean, safe, sanitary and in good repair. A comfortable temperature for children shall be maintained at all times. Applicants were advised that temperature in rooms that children occupy are required to be between a minimum of 68 degrees F and a maximum of 85 degrees F. Furniture and equipment were observed to be maintained in good condition, free of sharp, loose or pointed parts. All materials and surfaces accessible to children, including toys, shall be free of toxic substances.. There are 28 chairs, 7 tables, 35 cubbies, 31 mats, 2 toilets and 2 sinks available for preschool children. Staff have one separate bathroom. Sick children will be isolated in the office area of the facility until parents can pick them up. LPA observed age appropriate materials in the classrooms like blocks, arts and craft materials, books and play structures.
LPA observed a trash can with tight-fitting lids in each Room. LPA observed the cleaning supplies are kept on high shelves inaccessible to children. LPA observed smoke/carbon monoxide detectors in each Room, one Fire Extinguisher located in classroom #5 was last serviced 04/22/2024. First aid supplies, are stored in each Room inaccessible to children.
Licensee stated the facility provides AM/PM snacks that consist of fruits, vegetables, proteins, grains and dairy. Children in care bring their lunch from home and are stored in classroom. Parents know to put an ice pack in the lunch if items need to be kept cool.
LPA observed the playground is safe, secure, and surrounded by appropriate fencing. No bodies of water were observed. LPA observed the outdoor activity space is equipped with age-appropriate toys and equipment. Shade is provided by canopies, trees, and building overhangs. The areas around and under the play structures (Little Tykes) are cushioned with material (artificial grass with padding) that absorbs falls. Drinking water is available outdoors via water bottles, & water jugs/individual water cups.
Director states that the Facility offers IMS services (inhaler & EpiPen) and an IMS plan is on file. Director stated medication that needs to be refrigerated is kept in the common refrigerator located in room #4 which is the infant/crib room. All other medication is stored in the classroom up high, inaccessible to children next to the first aid kit.
