25 | On 03/08/2024 at 8:45am, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Farida Raja, met with Director, Sherron Murphy-Brown, for an unannounced Required-3 Year inspection in the Infant Program. The facility is licensed to serve children ages birth to 24 months in seven (7) rooms. Facility has a preschool program (#434415794) located on the same premises. LPA observed the required posted materials in the front lobby. Days and hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 6:00 pm.
LPA toured the indoor and outdoor areas during today’s inspection and observed the following ratios:
Infant 1- not in use at this time
Infant 2- 3 teachers: 4 infants
Infant 3- 1 teacher: 2 infants
Toddler 1+ Toddler 2 (combined outdoors)- 6 teachers: 9 children
Toddler 3- 2 teachers : 5 children
Toddler 4- 3 teachers: 4 children
Facility was in compliance with teacher to children ratio requirement. LPA and Director toured the indoor and outdoor areas of the Infant Program during today's inspection. There is a working telephone at the facility (408-990-8920). The classrooms, children's restrooms, staff restrooms, kitchen and outdoor area were inspected. LPA observed snack menus and daily schedules in each classroom. During today's inspection, LPA observed children eating or engaged in various activities under the visual supervision of teachers. Facility has central heating/cooling for comfort of children. Director states that there are no weapons including firearms on the premises. Disinfectants, cleaning products and medicines were stored inaccessible to the children in care. Furniture and equipment in the rooms inspected were age appropriate and in good condition, free of sharp, loose, or pointed parts. LPA observed appropriate changing tables that have raised sides and have washable vinyl changing pads that are at least 1 inch thick. Napping cribs and mats were appropriate. LPA observed pull out solid waste containers/ compost bins and pull out trash cans for the disposal of diapers in each room.
