32 | LPA Barnes inspected the indoor environment. The flooring did not present tripping or slipping hazards. Toy containers had smooth edges, ventilation, and lids that prevented finger entrapment. Each child had an individually labeled storage space. Each child had individual bedding that was not shared, and mats were cleaned daily. Bedding and blankets were sent home weekly for cleaning and returned. Bathrooms and toilets met required ratio regulations and were cleaned daily. Cleaning supplies and chemicals were stored in locked cabinets separate from food and out of children’s reach. Classroom floors were swept, carpets were vacuumed, and floors were mopped daily. First aid supplies were observed in an accessible location for staff and out of children’s reach.
LPA Barnes reviewed five children’s files during the inspection and found them complete. Parents signed in and out manually. LPA Barnes reviewed the sign-in and sign-out records with dates and times.
Director Helen Boluna’s CPR/First aid expires 4/14/26 and Mandated Reporter expires: 11/28/26. Director Encarnacion Buendia CPR/First aid expires 3/4/27 and Mandated Reporter expires 9/26/27
LPA Barnes informed Director Boluna that Mandated Reporter Training was required every two years. LPA Barnes stated that at least one staff member was required to maintain current CPR and First Aid certification at all times. LPA Barnes stated that aides and assistants were required to remain under the supervision of a qualified teacher except during naptime or bathroom transitions
During the outdoor inspection, The outdoor space was fenced at least five feet high, was free of debris, and did not contain any accessible hazards or bodies of water. The play area provided shade and was arranged to allow movement and access.
Director Boluna was reminded that all adults 18 and over responsible for administration or direct supervision of staff, persons who provides care and supervision to children, and staff who have contact with children, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5-days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30-days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated. -----CONTINUED NEXT PAGES ----
