25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Kate Huang met with Licensee, Bai, Xiao for an unannounced annual inspection. LPA explained the nature of today’s inspection to Licensee. Present were licensee, two helpers, four infants, seven preschoolers during today's inspection. Facility's current days and hours of operation are Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 6:00 pm. Only licensee is the adult living at the facility.
LPA toured the indoor and outdoor areas of the home with the licensee, Bai, Xiao, during today’s inspection. Required posting materials were observed. LPA observed sufficient materials, toys, and play equipment available for the daycare children. The home was clean and orderly.
The home was observed to have heating, cooling, and proper ventilation to ensure the children’s comfort. Indoor furniture and equipment were observed to be age-appropriate, in good condition, and free of sharp edges, loose parts, or pointed objects. No disinfectants, cleaning solutions, poisons, or other hazardous items were observed to be accessible to children.
Both the front yard and the backyard were used for daycare purposes and were enclosed with appropriate fencing. LPA observed that the outdoor equipment was age-appropriate.
The fire drill log showed that the facility conducted fire drills at least once every six months. LPA observed that the licensee has a valid CPR certificate. LPA also reviewed the records for all children present. All infants had 15-minute sleep logs on file. LPA further reviewed staff records. The two teachers present had mandated reporter training certificates, immunization records, and all other required documentation.
