Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Farida Raja conducted an unannounced inspection to deliver complaint findings. LPA met Assistant Director, Eowyn Flores and explained the purpose of the visit.

During today's inspection, LPA toured the facility and observed ratios. During the course of this investigation, LPA interviewed director, staff and children and reviewed records.

Based on staff interviews, staff stated that they have not observed any staff inappropriately discipline children. Staff stated that they have not observed any staff inform children to hit another child as a form of defense. Staff stated that when children are fighting or there is a conflict they separate the children and redirect them and talk to them. They teach children to say please stop and walk away and tell a teacher. They teach children about using gentle hands and give them words that they can use instead, have them check on their friend and apologize. Incident reports are also provided to parents for behavioral situations.

Based on children’s interviews, children stated that if another child is hurting them, staff tell them to stop it and not to hurt each other.

Based on interviews conducted, and evidence gathered at this time, it is concluded that although the allegation listed above may have happened or is valid, there is not a preponderance of evidence to prove the alleged violations did or did not occur. The allegation is thus UNSUBSTANTIATED.

No deficiencies cited. Exit interview conducted and report reviewed with Assistant Director, Eowyn Flores and Director, Manali Doshi who joined over phone.

A NOTICE OF SITE VISIT WAS ISSUED AND MUST REMAIN POSTED FOR 30 CONSECUTIVE DAYS.
