25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), James Santos conducted an unannounced Required 1 Year Inspection visit today and met with Licensee, Juanita Sanchez. There were no children present in the home during today's inspection. Seven of the children are in school today and the other one child is at home sick. Per Licensee, she picks up the children from school in the afternoon.
LPA toured the home inside and out with Licensee. The child care home is an apartment unit located in an apartment complex on the first level. The License, Notification of Parents’ Rights, Emergency Disaster Plan, and Earthquake Preparedness Checklist were observed to be posted. The living room/play area, kitchen area and the two bedrooms were observed to be well maintained and in good order. The bathroom was observed to be clean and sanitary. There are sufficient amount of toys for children. LPA observed a fully charged fire extinguisher, smoke detector and carbon monoxide detectors and first aid kit. Licensee stated that there are no poisons, weapons or firearms in the home. Disinfectant, cleaning supplies, and other hazardous items are stored and inaccessible to children. There is a fenced front patio for outdoor activities. There are no bodies of water observed.
Licensee transports children and understands that children cannot be left alone and unattended in parked vehicles.
Eight (8) children's files were reviewed during today's inspection. The records reviewed include but not limited to Emergency and ID, Consent for Medical Treatment and parent's rights and Immunization record.
