25 | On May 19, 2022, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Marilou Monico conducted an announced Prelicensing inspection in response to a request for a change of location. LPA met with Alma Zuniga, Applicant, and explained the nature of today's visit. Also present in the home was Applicant's adult daughter, Arlet Mendoza. LPA notes that the Applicant is currently licensed at 10464 Moretti Drive, Cupertino, CA 95014 (Facility number: 434412471). Applicant and her husband are the adults residing in the home.
Days and hours of operation will be Monday - Friday from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Applicant has completed her Preventative Health and Safety Child Care Training and a copy of the certification is on file. Applicant's CPR and First Aid certifications are current and expire on July 10, 2023. Applicant completed Mandated Reporter Training on December 18, 2020. A copy of current TB test, flu, measles, and pertussis are on file. Applicant leases the home and copy lease agreement was obtained during the inspection. Applicant states that she is going to transfer her daycare insurance to this location once licensed.
LPA toured the indoor and outdoor areas during today's inspection. There are no stairs in the home. LPA observed barricade fireplace. Off limit areas inside the home are: kitchen, office, one bedroom, one bathroom, furnace closet, and garage. Off limit areas outdoor: both side yards and fenced/barricaded area of the backyard. The home is clean and orderly, with heating/air conditioning, and ventilation for safety and comfort. There is sufficient toys, supplies, and equipment for the day care children both indoor/outdoor. LPA observed a fully charged 3A40BC fire extinguisher, working smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, fenced backyard, and no bodies of water. Applicant states that there are no weapons in the home.
Forms of discipline used by Applicant: talking to children and redirection. Cleaning products, toxic agents, medications, and sharp objects were inaccessible to children. LPA reminded Applicant that smoking, baby walkers, bouncers, jumpers, and similar items are not allowed in Family Child Care Homes.
