25 | On December 8, 2022 at 12:04 PM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Marilou Monico conducted an announced Prelicensing Inspection in response to a request for a change of location. LPA met with Sarely Rivera Sanchez, Applicant, and explained the nature of today's visit. LPA notes that the Applicant was licensed at 2375 Friars Lane, Los Altos, CA 94024 (Facility number: 435700324). Applicant, her husband, and her daughter are the adults residing in the home. Applicant's two children ages 17 and 15 years are also living in the home.
Days and hours of operation will be Monday - Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM. Applicant has completed her Preventative Health and Safety Child Care Training and a copy of the certification is on file. Applicant's CPR and First Aid certifications are current and expire on September 24, 2024. Applicant completed Mandated Reporter Training on December 2, 2022. A copy of current TB test and pertussis are on file. Applicant leases the home and copy of lease agreement was obtained during the inspection. Applicant states that she is planning to obtain daycare insurance once licensed.
LPA toured the indoor and outdoor areas of the home during today's inspection. There are no stairs in the home. LPA observed barricaded fireplace. Off limit areas inside the home are: Bedrooms 1 thru 3, two bathrooms, kitchen, family room, and garage. Off limit areas outdoor: both side yards. The home is clean and orderly, with heating/air conditioning, and ventilation for safety and comfort. There is sufficient toys, supplies, and equipment for the day care children both indoor/outdoor. LPA observed a fully charged 2A10BC fire extinguisher, working smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, fenced backyard, and no bodies of water. LPA observed a climbing structure in the backyard that is anchored to the ground. Applicant states that there are no weapons in the home.
Forms of discipline used by Applicant: talking to children and redirection. Cleaning products, toxic agents, medications, and sharp objects were inaccessible to children. LPA reminded Applicant that smoking, baby walkers, bouncers, jumpers, and similar items are not allowed in Family Child Care Homes.
